The life lessons she learned gave her new insights on living with change that still guide her life; and might help yours too. (Rev. Dr. Robin Renteria has served as MRE of the Community Church of Chapel Hill and as Parish Minister of the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Hillsborough. She came to ministry after sixteen years as a project manager and knows a lot about transition and change.)

In 1841, Unitarian minister Theodore Parker delivered a sermon entitled “The Transient and Permanent in Christianity” in which he asks, “What of absolute value never changes?” I will explore Parker’s influence on liberal religious thought during his lifetime and its relevance to our lives in the 21st century. (Patty is a longtime member of ERUUF who will be co-ordained by the Community Church of Chapel Hill and ERUUF on August 3.)
