In 1841, Unitarian minister Theodore Parker delivered a sermon entitled "The Transient and Permanent in Christianity" in which he asks, "What of absolute value never changes?" I will explore Parker's influence on liberal religious thought during his lifetime and its relevance to our lives in the 21st century.
